WebI can't remember the exact turn, but they should invade sometime between the years 1215-1222. I think they invaded the Khwarezmian Empire in 1218, but I'm not sure if the game gives any leeway. So yeh, if you're Khwarezmia or the Cumans, get ready to die around that year. SS Mongols are much stronger than Vanilla Mongols.
