Fort van barchon
WebFort Barchon is een fort nabij het Belgische dorpje Barchon. Het was een van de 12 forten van de ring van forten rond Luik. Het fort werd zowel in de Eerste Wereldoorlog als in de Tweede Wereldoorlog gebruikt. Het werd in 1888 naar plannen van generaal Henri Alexis Brialmont gebouwd van ongewapend beton. WebFort Barchon maakt deel uit van de versterkte positie van Luik, in 1888 gebouwd door generaal Brialmont. Het is een bijzonder fort uit 1914 dat in 1940 werd herbewapend. Elke tweede zondag van de maand wordt er een bezoek met gids georganiseerd, van april tot november. Het bezoek duurt 2,5 uur en begint om 14 u.

The fort forms an isosceles triangle whose base is 300 metres (980 ft) long and whose sides measure 235 metres (771 ft). A 6-metre (20 ft) deep by 8-metre (26 ft) ditch encircles the fort.
